Hi! I am Shannon, a neurodivergent OT, obsessed with the nervous system.
I am passionate about supporting adults with Autism and ADHD. I build programs, resources, and training to promote understanding and pathways forward for neurodivergent adults in employment, at home, and in school.
After becoming a Doctor of Occupational Therapy in 2015, I began focusing my career on supporting late-identified/recently diagnosed neurodivergent adults in 2018, and I have never looked back.

This training is for HR staff and anyone in leadership positions working directly with neurodivergent clients with Autism, ADHD, and/or cPTSD. Often, people disclose their disability but do not give any additional insight into what they need to help them be successful. Shannon has spent years teaching those requesting accommodations how to be specific about their needs and is here to help you manage requests for accommodations related to these more invisible disabilities that primarily affect the nervous system. This training can also be used for supervisors or others who interact daily with your neurodivergent employees. Using a nervous system perspective, Shannon provides clear explanations and strategies for the main accommodation requests and needs of your neurodivergent employees.

This training supports participants in understanding how communication skills fluctuate for all individuals, depending on the state of the autonomic nervous system during communication. Participants also learn how communication in Autism and ADHD is impacted in unique ways. Based on this shared understanding, communication strategies and norms can be defined clearly.
